While in law school, Raphael was a Summer Associate for two consecutive summers with the corporate law firm Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP.  He also clerked in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio, Criminal Division; and for the Majority Counsel for the Ohio House of Representatives, 128th General Assembly.  Raphael won the Federal Bar Association/Columbus Chapter’s 2010 Scholarship which included an externship with the Honorable Judge Algenon L. Raphael began his legal career in 2010 at The Spater Law Office.  As Associate Attorney, he co-counseled with Attorney Sandy Spater in both a state civil rape trial in August 2010 and a federal police misconduct trial in February 2011.  In March 2012 Raphael and Sandy became partners in The Law Office of Spater & Davis-Williams, LLC.

Raphael’s office has successfully litigated cases involving a cross being burned on the lawn of a north-central Ohio African-American family and that of an 11-year old middle school student bullied because of his perceived sexual orientation.
